When a drawing is made from any one dimension and a picture is taken from the same dimension it gives effect of 3D image or 3 dimensional images. 3D art is created on horizontal surface either by painting, chalking or drawing. 3D is a vey old form of art as old as 15th century, painters of those time used to decorate the house of wealthy people with these 3D effects and designs. If you have what it takes to win a contest, then check out the Top Crowdsourcing Sites.

So since then on, 3D art became widely popular not only for entertainment purpose bit also for branding and advertisement. With increase in demand of this popular art, a number of designers are trying to excel in this art and some of the designers have emerged with spectacular and eye catching designs which have compelled the visitors to check their galleries often.

Now in 2011 some designers have shown such 3D art which have already broken several records. As we continue to be impressed with this incredible artwork, I have created list of top ten most spectacular, creative and most popular artwork of 2011.

1. Central Shopping Centre

This impessive artwork was created by Qi Xinghua, who broke the record in Macau, China. Length of this picture is 120m and is created to celebrate second anniversary of Central Shopping centre in Macau. This designer has broken record twice in 2011.

2. Reebok Crossfit

Joe Hill is the creator of this stunning master piece. He created this piece at London for Reebok Crossfit. This was created in a week’s time and has length of 106.5m. It has broken record of Guinness Records for being the longest picture. However this record was unfortunately broken in a month’s time.

3. Visit Britain

This is also a creation of the brilliant designer Joe Hill. He travelled several countries and created famous UK landmarks across the globe. However this piece was created in Shanghai, China and was created using two walls and the floor.

4. Lego Terracotta Army

This marvelous piece was exhibited in Sarasota Chalk Festival in November 2011 and was created by Planet Street Painting. This piece won best 3D picture of the festival and publicity was done by Lego man washing on beach before the festival began.

5. Phoenix

This amazing artwork is created by Edger Muller (Kurt Wenner and Julian Beever being 1st and 2nd respectively). He created this 3D artwork for City Art gallery in August 2011 in Michigan, USA. This artwork was center of attention for a number of visitors for more than a week.

6. Wonderful Life

This is created by the team of SAS (Street Advertising Service) on the wall and floor, measuring 100 sq meters in London. This piece of art was created using Aerosol paints and is considered as  worlds first photo-realistic 3D graffiti.

7. Santas Grutto

3D street painter Julian Beever, made his late entry in the year in December 2011; but was able to make his place in top 10 of the year’s artwork. Santas Grutto was displayed in Camberley, UK this amazing designer only took 4 days to complete this artwork with chalk.

8. The Beatles

This piece was again created by Planet Street Painting for James Carling Pavement Art Festival in Liverpool in October 2011.

9. Interactive 3D picture

This was painted by Manfred Stader in June for Poland shopping center. This image gives effect 3D illusion effect both horizontally and vertically and also gives depth effect to trick our eyes.

10. Special Delivery

This “Renaissance Style” painting was created by US based Melanie Stimmel for FringeMK Festival in Milton Keynes, UK in June 2011.
