A Few Important Pointers on Growing Instagram

Growing Instagram can really help you increase the amount of business you’re getting and these tips are here to help.

1. Like Photos Within Your Niche

I once attended this online conference in which a special guest speaker, Susan Peterson who spoke of her success in growing an Instagram account to 400,000 followers strong. She said that in her early beginnings, she would stay up to the wee hours of the morning liking other people’s photos. Susan Peterson’s suggests finding 5 to 10 worthy pictures on someone’s account and liking these. Do one better and leave a genuine comment for top results. This also works best when you look to the hashtags to decide which are the most closely related to your theme. You can also look to those who follow your favorite instagrammers. The goal is to be authentic and genuine not spammy

2. CREATE A THEME FOR YOUR PHOTOS

If you have followed the suggestion in section 1, you will soon notice more and more people noticing your accounts and images. Be sure to give them something they can fully understand and connect with. I have found that a suitable theme for your Instagram account is a good way to begin. Choose a few words you believe captures the basic spirit of the images you are providing. If you have seen my account you will notice I chose themes with love, arts and beauty. Look over your content and think of words you want your images to invoke. Once you have chosen a few, try your hardest to stick to these themes in your future posts.

3. SOCIALIZE

It’s called social media because it’s supposed to be very social. Social signals are the most nonchalant reaction, try to go to the other end and make meaningful interactions wherever you go. Instead of “cute dress” consider what you would say to encourage more posts and continued content.

4. CREATE A HASHTAG AND ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO USE IT, TOO

Here is a great way to build a community spirit and begin a wave of new content as well. First, create a hashtag you think is unique and then make sure it really is. Then begin getting the word out, you want as many people to use it in boosting their works as well. At A Beautiful Mess, visitors are encouraged to post their photos with the #ABMLifeIsColorful attached. Once people begin reposting, you can repost some of their images, giving them proper credit. This builds community by giving you and your followers a point of appreciation and also increases the amount of content you will have in your account.

5. RUN A CONTEST

If you have an item you can offer up, a contest is a great way to stir up some excitement on your site and with followers. This can be all about good captions for a great shot, or even a reposting their images with a new hashtag. This can even be done in collaboration with other Instagrammers. One good way to get interaction is to buy instagram views to get people interested and then watch your real likes grow.

6. ASK YOUR OTHER FOLLOWERS TO FOLLOW YOU ON INSTAGRAM!

If you have another social media account and active following or friend’s groups, consider transfers. Ask if they will join your Instagram account if they aren’t already. Some may not even aware of the other social media accounts you operate. One simple tweet can real in more Instagrammers than you could imagine.

7. ENCOURAGE FOLLOWERS TO TAKE ACTION

Do you want your peeps to take action? Then ask them to. Most people won’t automatically share and like but a simple request can improve the action of your content exponentially. Sharing something funny, tell them to tag a friend and see how many others will do the same.

8. GEOTAG YOUR PHOTOS

Got some good shots of you at anew eatery of social hangout? Geotag the spot, this way other people who see the geotag will know where to find you and may begin liking your content after they see you share a similar taste in locations — and maybe even some epiphanic fish tacos. In case you aren’t sure what this means, you need to tag the location of the places you visit.
