1. Does this plug in have an impact on the users registered before?
A: No! All the users registered before will not see any difference between before and after,
and will not have to make any confirmation. They will be considered valid users.
2. How is the actual confirmation done?
A: The new registered user receives an email in a short time on the email address supplied by him. After that his only task will be to click on the link in the email and his account will be active.
3. What is the user allowed to do without email confirmation?
A: The user is not even allowed to login with his username and password before activating his account.
So he can do as much as a guest on the website.
4. Will this eliminate all spam ?
A: No. But it will eliminate most of it. There will always be spammers who register with valid email addresses and submit spam stories. But that's a problem that even the best social media websites, such as Digg or Mixx face. That's why you need a strong moderation team.
5. Will this plugin affect my theme ?
A: No. The plugin doens't modify any template files, just Pligg's core files.
6. Can I use it on older versions of Pligg (<9.9.5) ?
A: The plugin has been tested for version 9.9.5. You can try to use it for older versions, but you'll be doing it at your own risk. Be sure to backup all the files you'll modify and your Pligg database before installing the module. We'll release the module for older versions soon.
7. How do I customize the "Registration Confirmation" page ?
A: In your template's folder (template/your_template) you will find the "confirm-registration.tpl" file. Open it with your favorite editor (such as Notepad) and edit the text.
