Best Practices for Website Interface [Infographic]

Today we have an infographic that outlines the major design elements needed for a new website project. I have been taking a client through the process of re-designing their website and this list was helpful to me. The infographic was created by the team at UK Web Host Review.

Some of the 25 features that I see designers missing are listed below. I have yet to see someone forget to add a logo to their site. Though having a terrible logo seems to be ever popular.

Call to action above the fold – great to see in their graphic the callout for a phone number and/or Call to Action button.

Video Testimonials Hubspot redesigned their website– When this year they doubled their conversion rates.  From their research they learned that “65% of our users preferred to evaluate software by watching a video”. Bonkers! Make sure you have a video!

Internal Links – This is crutial for SEO. Make sure you link to the most important pages.

Online Chat – Chat is really hot for 2017. Adding a chat feature to your website can quickly increase conversions and the amount of people that talk to you via your website.

FAQ Page – If your support team gets a ton of questions maybe your product/service just sucks. Assuming it’s not that bad you might just need better documentation. A FAQ page is often overlooked. Don’t forget to add one!
