Alex, this is a really lovely posting – my favourite is the Italian Outdoor one, how very cool to see the ants going across the page, the photos dynamically changing and the leaf moving like that: stunning! It must have taken forever to do.

Thank you for featuring my website in this wonderful article, it’s always lovely to get some extra recognition and visitors. One slight whiny point from my side is that my (website) name isn’t spelled correctly. I guess it’s not a big deal but for what it counts for ‘MK Leyne’ should just be ‘Mkleyne’.

Anyway once again thank you very much, appreciate it that you mentioned my website in this article.

Doesn’t this list really highlight graphic designers more than web designers? The code (layout, usability, etc.) isn’t want makes these sites beautiful, it’s the heavy, huge & colorful graphics. I think this post should be renamed “Most beautiful graphics on a site’s home page”.

I’m on a T1 and many of these sites took multiple seconds to fully load, I assume due to the heavy graphics. I know it will be faster the next time, but to me that’s unacceptable performance.

Great list! I am hoping that my website might make it into such a list some day.

I gotta say one very sad sad thing about this list. These are all unfortunately self-promo designs, in which the client is simply a design firm or a creative group.

It would have been nice to see a ‘most beautiful websites’ that excercised a stronger core message and brand outside of just proving creativity through styling.

The website designs are beautiful, and unique. They are all completely individual and inspirational. It just shows me, that when you designing for something you are committed to, how that shines through in your design work.

You always get ideas when stuck by checking these kind of articles… I personally lately am keeping my eyes more on “creative” ways of laying out the page content as well as placing call to actions… after all what’s the point of having a gorgeous design if the site doesn’t work for you and your visitors…
