Today, I have written a comprehensive comparison between the two hosts, along with my honest recommendation after using both hosts.<\/span><\/p>\n

GoDaddy is a publicly traded web hosting company, established in 1997, and headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona. It is the world\u2019s largest ICANN accredited web registrar, managing more than 61 million domain names and serving 13 million people worldwide, as of January 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is iPage? It is a hosting service owned by Endurance International Group and is the smaller web hosting service of the two, established in 1998 and headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pricing<\/b><\/h1>\n

The pricing for both GoDaddy and iPage is quite reasonable. iPage offers one plan at <\/span>$1.99 per month<\/i><\/b>, which is a special introductory offer that is available for a limited time. Upon renewing, the regular monthly rate is charged.<\/span><\/p>\n

GoDaddy, on the other hand, offers three different plans: <\/span>Economy<\/b>, <\/span>Deluxe<\/b> and <\/span>Ultimate<\/b> and like iPage, they are being offered at a discounted introductory rate which increases upon renewal. The Economy plan costs $3.99 per month, Deluxe plan costs $4.99 per month, and the Ultimate plan costs 7.99 per month. I will discuss the differences in the features in the coming sections.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both the hosting services offer some great features. Overall, I found the feature list for both iPage and GoDaddy to be quite similar and comprehensive. iPage has a descriptive comparison <\/span>page<\/span><\/a> which compares its features to Godaddy, FatCow and Bluehost.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since iPage wrote this, we can expect it to be slightly biased. I did some more research and found out some of the most important features that potential customers look for. I have discussed them below:<\/span><\/p>\n

Bandwidth <\/b><\/p>\n

Both iPage and the three plans of GoDaddy offer unlimited bandwidth for the sites hosted.<\/span><\/p>\n

Email addresses<\/b><\/p>\n

iPage offers unlimited email addresses. GoDaddy provides 100 addresses for the Economy plan, 500 for the Deluxe plan and 1000 for the ultimate plan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Free Domain Registration:<\/b><\/p>\n

GoDaddy offers unlimited free domain registration for all the three plans. iPage offers free domain registration<\/a> for the first year only.<\/span><\/p>\n

Website builder<\/b><\/p>\n

iPage offers a free website builder with a user-friendly interface and drag and drop features. This is especially useful for novice web users.<\/span><\/p>\n

Customer Support<\/b><\/p>\n

iPage offers customer support in the form of email, phone, and chat whereas GoDaddy only provides support via phone and email.<\/span><\/p>\n

MySQL databases<\/b><\/p>\n

GoDaddy offers unlimited MySQL databases with the Ultimate plan, 25 X 1 GB for the Deluxe plan and 10 X 1 GB for the Economy plan. iPage offers unlimited MySQL storage.<\/span><\/p>\n

WordPress hosting<\/b><\/p>\n

GoDaddy and iPage both offer WordPress hosting. iPage WordPress hosting has two plans: WP Starter at $3.99 per month and WP Essential for $6.99 per month. GoDaddy<\/a> has four plans: Basic at $3.99, Deluxe at $4.99, Ultimate at $7.99 and Developer at $13.99 per month.<\/span><\/p>\n

Money Back Guarantee<\/b><\/p>\n

iPage has a 30-day money back guarantee whereas GoDaddy has an unlimited money back guarantee.<\/span><\/p>\n

iPage vs. GoDaddy<\/b><\/h2>\n

Both of the services are competitive. I rated them on several criteria such as customer service, reliability, pricing, availability of plans and extra features. <\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding customer service, iPage is the winner as it provides support through phone, email, and chat whereas GoDaddy only provides phone and email support.<\/span><\/p>\n

In terms of reliability, they both seem to be highly reliable. I read online reviews by customers saying that they were generally satisfied with both services. GoDaddy claims to have a 99.9% uptime rate.<\/span><\/p>\n

iPage wins again in pricing. Its introductory offer is very reasonable, even after renewal. Upon a review of iPage, I found that its single plan provides the same level of service as the GoDaddy Ultimate plan, with a lower rate. I was particularly pleased with the inclusion of an easy-\u00adto-\u00aduse website builder by iPage. It’s extremely useful for small business owners who cannot afford the services of professional web designers.<\/span><\/p>\n
