Speed up Mozilla Firefox in 3 easy steps
Open Mozilla Firefox.

- Type “about:config” into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:
- network.http.pipelining
- network.http.proxy.pipelining
- network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
- Modify these entries like this :
- Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true“
- Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true“
- Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to 20
- Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0“. This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.
If you are using a broadband connections you’ll notice the difference right away.

This is very helpful advice. Thank you so much for the tips.
I assume these are the same “tricks” of the trade that IE 7.0 provides claiming to “boost” the speed of the Internet.
Maybe this will give Firefox the juice to catch up with IE.
There are also some tricks for Internet Explorer, but a bit more complicated. It involves changing some registry values. I will write a post about that also.
