Adobe Creative Suite 3 To Be Announced March 27

The release will reveal the features of what is being called “the largest software release in Adobe’s 25 year history.”

It’s hard to find a visual creative who doesn’t rely on one or more of the applications within Adobe’s cross-platform Creative Suite. Anticipation of the upcoming CS3 version has been building for some time, in part due to the extended open beta of Photoshop CS3. There are also many users who are waiting for the Suite’s ability to run on Intel-based Macs, and will couple that with an Apple hardware upgrade.

There have a been a few recent hints about the March 27 announcement date, which was first floated last month by a financial analyst. A teaser video for the upcoming release (shown at right) was later posted on YouTube, while a related promotional mini-site was create by Adobe’s UK wing. The launch will take place at an event in New York City, which will be webcast live at 3:30 PM EST, during which the application features and suite configurations will be revealed. Details about the launch event are to be made available on the Adobe site later this week, with the Suite to actually ship later this spring.
